020625 Telematics Valley’s Activities Reinforces Göteborg’s Leading Position in TelematicsTelematics Valley is proud to announce the winner of the 1000 Euro prize for the first Academic Award in Telematics. The award goes to Pontus Kurol and Mattias Lindström, the authors of ”Strategies for Outsourcing of Downstream Activities in Emerging Industries”, applied to the telematics industry and written for Chalmers University of Technology and Göteborg School of Economics and Commercial Law. Advancing the field of vehicular telematics was the underlining component in the selection, with the theme and relevance as the main guiding factors. The award has been created to promote the Research and Development of Telematics at the University level.The award will be presented at the Telematics Systems 2002 Europe’s largest conference in Göteborg on June 26th. Telematics Systems 2002 is bringing together 250+ experts from around the world to Göteborg, Sweden on June 26th and 27th for the opportunity to discuss the business models behind successful partnerships and telematics systems. The location of this conference and the exceptional attendance further cements Göteborg as a region in the forefront of telematics development. Telematics Valley has been a key organization in the development of Göteborg as strong regional cluster in the development, collaboration and promotion of telematics. The initial step has been taken to bring together the forces need to promote cluster and collaboration development: private sector, public sector, and educational. The initiative has been a tremendous success with over 60+ private sector member companies, and no less than 10 public sector and educational members. This list is expanding weekly with inquiries coming from around the world. Telematics Valley is also launching a global forum in which telematics experts can communicate. Telematics Valley has created a Web based Open Forum for this purpose and will be shown and demonstrated for the first time at Telematics Systems 2002. The official launch of the Open Forum will be September 4th.
